The Pikes Peak Miners of the RMJHL are proud to announce that goalie Matty Taylor has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey at Marian University in Wisconsin beginning this fall.
Taylor, from Fairbanks, AK, was an integral part of The Miners championship team this past season, earning MVP of the RMJHL championship. Taylor, in his second season with the Miners RMJHL team, finished with a 17-4 record, .929% and a 2.90 GAA. Prior to his two seasons with the Miners, he played one season with the Miners U18AAA team in the NAPHL.
“We are very proud of Matty and his commitment to Marian University”, said Coach Harper. “For the past three seasons Matty has played for our organization he has been very dedicated to reaching his goal of playing college hockey and he deserves to be there. He is a perfect example of how being a leader, striving to get better every single day and putting in the work on and off the ice will reward you in the end. Congrats and best of luck to Matty.”
